Reading: Technoculture

Technoculture, I mean technovulture, has drastically changed the way society views life. Innovation is based solely on technology, rather than ideas. Lets just stop, drop everything. Forget each others names, forget each other names, and just walk away. I wished society would not depend on technology and could rely on the community more.

Lecture #4

CAM Walkthrough.

For one of my lecture requirements, I went to the Contemporary Art Museum. I enjoyed the various works of art. However, I did not appreciate the excess of modern art. I’m a gal who appreciates the classics, so I was not satisfied.

Lecture #3

Another lecture I attend was the Tuba Studio’s “Solo and Duet Concert”. The Tuba Studio director Jay Hunsberg gave a speech about the technique and difficulties of playing tuba. Some featured members were Kelly Bravard, David Suarez, John Hadden, Philip Beatty, and Andrew Claypool. 

Lecture #2: John Philip Sousa Concert

This year, I attended the USF School of Music Fall Symphonic Band Concert. They played some of John Philip Sousa’s most famous marches such as “Stars and Stripes Forever”. Dr.McCutchen’s wife sang George Gershwin’s “Embraceable You”. As well as marches, classical works such as Passcaglia were performed. A featured soloist was Aaron Campbell.

Main Assignment #3: Situationalists

My situationalist project was created when I went the to the Student Marshal Center on election day. My friend, Austin, and I went and made candles in the ballroom. Austin is a hardcore republican conservative and began to argue with other people over their political beliefs. Therefore, I decided to make the candles say our political beliefs. 

Main Assignment #2: Relational Art

This was the project based on using someone’s profession and relating it to art. I worked with Becca and Christina on this project. We interviewed a women near Becca’s mailing building and made an exposed black and white photography shoot. 

Main Assignment #4: Drowning

This is a copy of the music I wrote entitled “Drowning”. It encompasses the emotions I felt whilst watching Howl as well as reading the poem. I turned this into a performance piece and included the class with clapping and stomping.

Brief Assignment #3

I dreamed that I came home with my friend Reece with a bottle of Bicardi. Our dorm hall turned into a fraternity house. My RA walked outside right as I took a swig of the poison. She yelled at me whiled I lied and said I just found the bottle. I left it outside as I went to my room. Suddenly, my butch RA turned into a hot blondie and I caught her making love to the Dean in the shower. I met her in her room after that to discuss what I saw. She said he didn’t please her the way I could. Then, my eyes panned over to the window, which the sun was shining brightly in and danced on the floor. My friend Reece and his buddy Ahmad were outside smoking weed. 

What a dream.
